Sleep Awareness Week

Sleep is essential for the human body to function efficiently.

Sleep is essential for the human body to function efficiently. The sleep awareness week is a time for people to learn more about the benefits of sleep and how sleep affects their “health, well-being, and safety” (The National Sleep Foundation).

The National Sleep Foundation is an organization prioritized to bringing sleep awareness and running campaigns. Every year they have a theme for sleep awareness and also a poll to educate and release information to people showing them how well they sleep/should sleep.

The theme this year is “It’s Time To Be Your Best Slept Self” and you can learn more about sleep health on their blog.

The research they conduct is not only informative, but also gives people examples of ways to become more aware of their own sleep schedule based on how many hours you should be getting each night (see table below).

This site and community reminds people how important sleep is to the body and how it could negatively affect you if you don’t get enough sleep. Make sure to check out https://www.thensf.org/sleep-awareness-week/ today!
